Album Cover to Coldplay\'s 4th album...Viva La Vida or Death to All His Friends

So as you will find out, I am a huge movie and music lover.  My future will be in film, but music is big in mu life as well.  I wanted to discuss the new studio album for the band Coldplay.  The album is entitled “Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends.”  This album is much darker compared to their first three.  According to the band, they felt the first three albums were a trilogy and this is not part of that.  Lead Singer Chris Martin feels that many people may not like this album because of the darker tone, but really hopes people can see past that.

Before the creation of the album, Coldplay spent a lot of time in Central America and it was announce that the new album had many hispanic influences to it.  The name “Viva La Vida” means “Long Live Life,” which was taken from a painting by Firda Kahlo.  The album artwork is takne from the painting Liberty Leading the People by French painter Eugene Delacroix, commemorating the July Revolution of 1830.

The album is set to be released in the United States on June 17th.  Two singles have already been released, “Violent Hills” and “Viva La Vida.”  Supposedly 10 songs will be feature on the album, with the album running time being 42 minutes.

Once the albums is fully released, I will write a review of the album and let you know more about it.  If you’re looking for a Coldplay fix check out their other albums:

Brothers & Sisters (EP)
A Rush of Blood to the Head
Coldplay Live 2003

Thanks for checking out my thoughts for the day!

I heard that “The Scientist” was everyone’s favorite Coldplay song.
